Today was the day. The first day I’d had the opportunity to get out and flex the camera. Destination? Big Spring Park and downtown Huntsville. Very cool things down there to always take pictures of. Camera packed? Check. Appropriately bundled for 42 degree weather? Check. Keys, wallet, etc? Check. Houston, we are a go.

I get to the car, toss in the gadget bag, and start the car. Radio on. First thing I hear? “If you’re going to the Christmas parade in downtown Huntsville today, bring an umbrella”. Damn, damn, damn… Unload everything back into the house.

So, in light of my best-laid plans getting shot to hell, what did I do today? I realized that I only had one real, usable jacket and it was falling apart, so I went to Wilson’s Leather and bought two new jackets, both of which were on sale. One Lambskin leather bomber jacket, one “distressed leather” (aka suede-like, or more appropriately “pigskin” — as in football leather) jacket. I’m broke, but at least I’m warm…
