I actually made my appointment with the Huntsville Flight Center to go out and take my discovery flight this Friday at 1 pm. As luck would have it though, it looks like it’s supposed to be raining all day, and they prefer to do these flights in bright, sunny weather… We’ll see, and wish me luck. If I’m not back online by Monday, someone please take a moment to scrape me off the pavement.

Saturday, I believe I’ll spend out at Moontown (Web Site). One of my online friends sent me their copy of a book on getting my pilot’s license, and I can’t think of a better place to sit and read it than a very friendly, very charming, light aircraft, grass field airport. Lee took me out there a couple of weeks ago and it was just remarkable to see that there are still places that do training without the “Gestapo” security people around. People at Moontown actually appear to enjoy flying, most owning their own planes..
